Job Description

As the Sr. Pu Manager, you will create, implement and oversee the Company’s public relations programs to help drive the NuVasive’s external communications initiatives, in support of key business priorities and thought leadership.

We are seeking an experienced and talented writer, with a strong content creation background. You will have responsibility to support the development and execution of a variety of public relations strategies. The role reports directly to the Executive Vice President, Internal and External Affairs.

  • Write compelling press releases, messaging documents and other media support documents with little editing required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications or business.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in public relations.

  • Strong writing skills across multiple vehicles (including print, online, etc.) and types (including press releases, bylines, FAQs, reports, etc.) Writing samples will be requested.

  • First-rate editing and proofreading skills.

  • Self-starter who is resourceful and able to deliver projects on target, on time and on budget.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail. Strong PowerPoint skills a plus.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and deal with ambiguity.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills. Must be capable of building successful relationships with internal stakeholders, including those at the senior executive level.

  • Adaptable to changes in project scope and priority level. Must be a team player willing to pitch in as needed.

  • Arrange and manage media inquiry responses, one-on-one media interviews and media tours as needed.

  • Ensure all content is produced, on-brand, compelling, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, optimized for search and user experience for all buyer personae and market segments.

  • Proactively develop and maintain positive relationships with subject matter experts in key areas of the organization.

  • Identify industry trends and create compelling news angles that allow NuVasive to participate in relevant conversations.

  • Manage the press release distribution through PRNewswire and NASDAQ portals, as well as advanced notifications to internal stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications or business.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in public relations.
