General Dynamics Information Technology Multi-Project Windows, Linux, and Mac System Administration in San Diego, California

Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is looking for a candidate to provide Linux, Windows, and macOS X System Administration for two government customers on the Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) network. The selected candidate will work as the primary System Administrator for the customers requiring support managing Linux servers, Windows 10 desktops and laptops and macOS X laptops and desktops that operate either as part of an enclaved network or as part of the RDT&E network.

Specific job duties include:

  • RedHat and CENTOS system administration.

  • Windows 7/10 desktop, laptop administration.

  • macOS X desktop, laptop administration

  • Provide Linux system administration for client and server operating systems such as, but not limited to, CentOS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

  • Configure and administer Linux operating systems, web application servers (such as Wildfly and JBoss EAP), databases (such as PostgreSQL), single sign-on providers (such as Keycloak and Red Hat SSO), directory servers, container management framework (such as OpenShift), hypervisors, version control applications, computer and server hardware, and network equipment compliant to DoD and DISA STIG’s and SRG’s, and shall suggest, manage, and track necessary deviations in support of preparing the NTCDL application for IATT’s, IATO’s, and ATO’s

  • Maintain active access to VRAM, NIPR and SIPR SAILOR, IAVA/IAVB announcements, and other required systems to conduct IA tasks.

  • Manage IA updates as directed by PMW-170 IA Team and DoD IAVA/IAVB alerts

  • Download, document, test, and send to Logistics for upload to NIPR SAILOR antivirus definitions for the HFIP, SNR, Windows GUI, and Firewall components

  • Perform all antivirus definition and update patches to at least two BFTN systems (one 4.1 and one 4.2) to maintain IA compliance for routine IA scanning in support of the BFTN Authority to Operate (ATO).

  • Develop or revise cybersecurity-related technical publications such as the Password Policy, Backup and Restore Procedures, and Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs)

  • Install Homebrew and other DON Application and Database Management System (DADMS) approved software. Perform any necessary Information Resource Management (IRM) DADMS registrations and renewals, and comply with any and all IRM directives.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications

5-8 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.

Clearance Level

  • Secret

Certifications (IAT Level II)

One of the following:

  • Security+ CE

  • GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)

  • Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP)

  • System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

and one of the following:

  • Linux +

  • LPIC-2 Advanced Level Linux Professional

  • LPIC-3 Senior Level Linux Professional

  • RHCERed Hat Certified Engineer

  • RHCSA Red Hat Certified System Administrator

  • RHCDS Red Hat Certified Data Center Specialist

and one of the following

  • Windows 7 certification: Configuring Windows 7 (70-680 or equivalent)

  • Windows 10 certification: Configuring Windows 10 (70-697 or equivalent)

and one of the following

  • ACA - Apple Certified Associate

  • ACSP – Apple Certified Support Professional

  • ACTC – Apple Certified Technical Coordinator
