Under supervision, Cognitive Neuroimaging Research Associate will serve as a tester for a funded study of cognition and brain functioning in Parkinson’s disease. Duties involve testing subjects in a cognitive/neuropsychological and medical test battery, scoring the cognitive test battery, and assisting the investigators with research project tasks such as coordination of subject scheduling, telephone screening, purchasing and maintaining test materials, data entry, assisting with MRI acquisitions, and other administrative tasks.
Theoretical knowledge or Degree in Psychology or related field.
Experience in administering and scoring computer-based and paper-and-pencil neuropsychological assessments that measure immediate and delayed memory, cognitive control/executive function, etc. in English.
Proven experience in achieving proficiency in carrying out and scoring clinical interviews and performance-based tests (i.e., tests of ability to carry out tasks of daily living).
Demonstrated understanding of research study of cognition in clinical populations.
Demonstrated experience with testing subjects in a cognitive/neuropsychological and medical test battery.
Demonstrated experience in acquiring MRI's of the brain for research studies.
Experience in conducting neuropsychological testing and administering questionnaires, clinical interviews, and performance based tests with older adults.
Excellent oral communication skills for conducting assessments in person with participants in English. Ability to read clearly and articulate out loud.
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively work as a member of a team with other staff members and faculty, and to test and motivate research subjects.
Proficiency with PC and software such as Word, Excel, electronic communication.
Strong organization skills to keep accurate, retrievable electronic and paper records. Ability to photocopy, keep accurate records, file, update computerized administrative files, and conduct computerized library searches.
Ability to use tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality in relation to research subjects (e.g., maintain HIPAA privacy and rights of human research subjects).
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Must be willing to work flexible hours when necessary to test study participants.
