The Assistant Nurse Manager provides support and care to the clients and maintains professional standards of care, following the ANA Code of Ethics. Under the general supervision the Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for immediate supervision of a wide variety of clinic functions, planning and performing direct and indirect nursing interventions, and is responsible for supervising, organizing, planning, assessing and monitoring the medical services provided by UC San Diego Health System.
The Assistant Nurse Manager works in conjunction with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to assure that patients are receiving the best medical, nursing, and psychosocial care possible. Assists in administrative efficiencies through the medical service areas and has frequent independent judgment in monitoring the day-to-day operation of the units with minimal administrative assistance/supervision.

BSN required; will consider candidates who are currently enrolled in BSN or higher nursing degree program.
Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of California.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Seven (7) years of relevant experience, including at least four (4+) or more years of progressively responsible nursing experience.
Demonstrated Oncology experience within the last three (3) years.
Current ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy provider card or must obtain within 6 months of hire.
A Master's Degree.
ACLS and/or UCSD ART certification.
OCN or must obtain within one (1) year of hire.
Experience supervising in large clinic environments.
Infusion Center experience.
Must be able to work various hours & locations based on business needs.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
