Disconnects, repairs, installs, reconnects and tests electrical equipment and cables.
Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctioning electrical equipment in general shipboard electrical and lighting systems, auxiliary equipment, and propulsion support equipment.
Lays out and accomplishes installations and upgrades.
Reads and works from blueprints, tech manuals
Able to perform more complicated Electrical disconnects and have the capacity to interpret basic multimeter usage and functions.
Perform basic functions of Electrical tool checkout, repair and verification of equipment Electrical Safe Integrity.
Demonstrates the ability to work from schematics, blue prints, or other technical directive; including the recognition of general electrical symbols to accomplish new electrical equipment and systems installation.
Demonstrates and understanding of AC and DC electrical theory.
Must have working knowledge and experience in operation, maintenance, and repair and or installation of cableways, motors, motor controllers, and Limit torque Valves, limit switches, proximity switches, hydraulic pumping units, hybrid relay and standard electronic module controllers.
Will perform work on Deck-edge Elevator Systems, Platform Locking Systems, Deck-edge Doors, Hangar Bay Divisional Doors, Flight Deck Safety Stanchion System, Weapon Elevator Systems, Vertical Package Conveyors, Armored Hatches, Vertical and Horizontal Sliding Watertight Doors. Experience with this equipment is a plus
Must posses Maritime OSHA 10 hour training card or be willing to complete safety training, applicants that can provide proof of training will have priority to apply.
Must be DBID's Eligible.
